The Face of Liberation

During World War Two, the Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by German forces. The five-year occupation came to an end on 9 May 1945 – Liberation Day. To celebrate this day, the People’s Picture will create a photo mosaic featuring the faces of those who make up the Island of Jersey – past and present. Submissions have now closed, but click here to find out more about the project and see all the photos and stories that have been sent in.
