Faces of Surgery
The Royal College of Surgeons of England | 2023
The Royal College of Surgeons of England has commissioned The People’s Picture to create a photo mosaic, which will feature the people who make the College what it is; past and present. The mosaic will be put on display at the Portugal Street entrance of the College building in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London.
Submit your Image/s:
- NUpload your photos and stories here
- NUpload a selfie or a portrait of you, your team or your colleagues, ideally at work.
- NSubmit as many pictures as you like. We need hundreds and thousands!
- NPlease check that you have the permission to use the photo, especially if it features other people.
- NPlease do not upload under 18 or children or patient images.
- NSee your photo and story appear live in the gallery below and on social media.
As a charitable organisation with an extensive history, our goal is for the mosaic to tell the story of the people who make the College what it is and contribute to our vision – seeing excellent surgical care for everyone. We would love to have as many of our fellows, members and community involved in this special project, which is why we are inviting photo submissions of yourselves and your teams to be a part of this historic piece.
The Final Picture
A picture tells a thousand words and we will choose a final image composed of all your pictures that will celebrate the concept of the faces of surgery.
The People’s Picture brings communities together to create and celebrate their unique legacy. Each artwork is assembled from thousands of photos yet every single one tells a story. Pictures are powerful. People connect with pictures. People share their memories, and dreams and celebrate through pictures.
“We’re delighted to be working with The People’s Picture to show our wonderful people who have contributed to our past and drive forward our mission for the future. We hope all our members, staff and volunteers, will be able to make their mark on our ‘Home of Surgery’ in Lincoln’s Inn Fields by taking part.”
