Janet brought in some photos of her Dad PTE Georg Edward Parker 4975931 of the Sherwood Foresters:
” My dad was a POW under the barbaric Japanese and was released in 1945. He never really spoke about it so I really never knew the extent of the cruelty. I went to the Bridge on the River Kwai last November 1th which was a very moving and special day for me and to the war cemeteries to pay my respects to those who did not come home. We will remember them “
