Penny, Sara & Beryl are women from the Townswomen’s Guilds and part of the project. They have been our right hand helping us engage with the public and form meaningful exchanges with social history and relatives of Suffragists. Townswomen’s Guilds was formed in 1929 and is one of the largest women’s organisations in the UK, with around 600 Guilds and 24,000 members. Some of them are direct descendants of Suffragists.
